GENERAL
RULES
1.) We will be playing
18 hole Doubles "Best Disc/Throw" (which
means you both throw and then take the best of the two throws,
then both throw from there and take the best throw, etc, etc...all
the way until you make it in)
2.) NO out-of-bounds - play it from wherever it lies (including
water shots-Kaplan Course only).
3.) A shot landing on TOP of the basket does NOT count.
4.) Players on a team must alternate who tees off on each hole
(ie - same person for a team can't always tee
off first)
5.)
First team listed on the schedule tees off first, then "honors"
for each hole after that
6 .) You must keep both feet BEHIND the disc when throwing.
No jumping/stepping in front of your disc. If you have an unthrowable
lie, you may stand beside the disc or behind the disc up to
5 ft as long as you are not closer to the basket. Where you
stand must be agreed upon with the other team.
7.)
**NEW** Each player
on a team can only use 9 of their own drives off the tee. Once
a team has used 9 of one player's drives, you must take the
other players drives for the remainder of the match. This will
require each team to be a little more strategic in which drive
they take. Teams will need to keep track of how many drives
each player has used. If the match ends in a tie and you go
into a sudden death match starting back at hole 1, this rule
will no longer apply.
7 .) All holes will be treated as par 3.
8 .) All rounds should be played at Kentwood
Park on Kaplan Rd near campus.
9 .) You will have one week (Mon-Sun) to get together with the
other team and play your round. You may play a round early
if needed, but, if you do not get your round in on time, you
may ask for a 1 week extension (below).
10.)
If a rule question not covered here comes up during play, you
may resolve it if both teams agree on the solution. (Please
report the question when you report your score)
SCORING
1.) We will be using the Match-play style of scoring. (For
each hole that your team "wins", you get a point.
If you tie a hole, neither team gets that point. The team that
breaks the tie does NOT get a point for the previously tied
holes, just a point for that hole. You determine which team
wins the round by who has the most points. It is possible to
have a lower overall team score and lose the round. Because
of tied holes, it wouldn't be uncommon to win an 18 hole round
by a score of only 5 to 4)
2.) You will need to keep track of 2 scores when playing - how
many holes your team wins AND your overall running score for
that round.
3.) In the event of a tie at the end of a round, you will play
sudden death starting at hole 1. Those holes will not count
toward your overall score, just to determine a winner. Your
overall score and hole score should be taken from only the 18
hole regular round.
4.) After a round, The winning team must report BOTH
overall scores AND the matchplay score for the round using the
email form below BY SUNDAY ending the week of play. (ie
- the winning team must use the email form below to report for
both teams their overall score (ie -8) and their matchplay
score ( ie 5) by SUNDAY of the week of play)
5.) If a score is reported late, the winning team will
get 4 strokes added to their overall score- they still get them
win, their matchplay score will remain the same and the losing
teams overall score will remain unchanged.
6.) Overall, the weekly standings and the tournament seeding
will be determined by the number of matches won, your overall
team score, overall number of holes won, and lastly, by the
number of losses - in that order.
PLAY
EXTENSIONS
1.)
If you try to work out a time to play a match and absolutely
cannot play within the week scheduled, you may request a 1 week
extension by filling out the form below and submitting it before
Sunday night. You will be given one week to make that match
up and submit the scores online.
2.)Each
team is allowed a total of 2 seperate extensions per season
without penalties. Each extension after the first 2 requests
will result in a 4 stroke penalty added to your overall score.
3.)
If a team does not get their extended match made up in the alotted
one week extension time, that match will be dropped from their
schedule and neither team will receive credit for a win or any
added scores.
4.) If a match is being held up because one player on a team
cannot play and the game cannot be made up in the allotted extension
time, that team may play with only one player (ie a man down),
however, he must play a straight game (no double throws) and
the team with two players will still play best throw as usual.
5.)
** NEW ** If an extension is requested
and a time cannot be agreed on by both teams to play the extension
week, the match will automatically be scheduled for 4:00 on
Sunday of the extension week. If as much as one player from
either team shows up and no one from the other team shows, the
team with one player will get the win. If only one player from
each team shows up, those two will play head-to-head (straight
throws, no double throws) and the winning score will be given
to that team. If no one shows up to play for either team, the
match will be cancelled and neither team will get a win or their
score added.
6.) If scores are not submitted at all for a particular match
and no extension was requested, we will assume you didn't play
and neither team will get that score added to their overall
score. (You are not "penalized" necessarily for not
playing, but your overall maximum possible score will be reduced
by not reporting that particular round)
7.) If a particular team does not play any two rounds, they
will be warned after the second round, and the next time that
team misses playing a round they will be dropped from the rest
of the schedule
